Thanks for your response, and the breakdown of the Model Number meanings. to me that was counter-intuitive, unless the media is designed to dissolve over time. The clock will usually have a number of dials for you to alter. Salt bridges form when the brine tank is stored in a high-humidity area, or the salt levels are too high for the tank. A salt bridge is a hard, crusty formation on the surface of the salt level. Remove the pins or clips and open the panel to access the clock. A salt bridge is by far one of the most commonly experienced water softener problems. It should be connected to the top of the system in a closed-off panel, held in place by several pins or clips. There is also an industrial-strength Iron remover for sale. The tests showed that we did not need it so we disconnected it and have been just using straight well water. But none of the times did ANYTHING come out when the lever was in backwash position, just the position above it. (flush? position?) Tried it a couple of times like the lever indicated, 1) down to backwash, 2) up to next position (flush?), 3) to Run position. Remove piston assembly and inspect bore removeforeign. Control valve jammed in brine or backwash position.A. Reset timer.5.Water continuously flows todrain.A. Am I supposed to remove the old media, or is it designed to dissolve over time? I Tried the backwash, but nothing came out on backwash, but the next cycle up towards the run position allowed water to flow out of the drain hose. Replace with correct flow control (See Specifications).4.System regenerates at wrongtime-of-day.A. If you have an older water softener, you will need to pull the dial slightly out before turning the hour and minutes dials to set the current time. Guess I can tell her to go ahead and buy it, she will need it anyway. Press the buttons marked 'hour' and 'minutes' on your water softener to set the current time. Wanted to try to figure out how to change it before I told her to get the stuff.
